• Musician Motivation Episode #1 – “The Power of Focus”

Hi, I'm Jermaine Griggs, founder of this site. We teach people how to express themselves through the language of music. Just as you talk and listen freely, music can be enjoyed and played in the same way... if you know the rules of the "language!" I started this site at 17 years old in August 2000 and more than a decade later, we've helped literally millions of musicians along the way. Enjoy!

Attention: To learn more about this, I recommend our 500+ page course: The "Official Guide To Piano Playing." Click here for more information.

    Hi Jermaine,
I really needed to hear this. I started teaching myself to play piano from scratch a few weeks ago and I learnt a few chords pretty quick and in the excitement have lost focus and just pounding away the same chords (in root positions, ignoring transposing, voicing, etc… cause it’s “additional effort”). Frustratingly, my knowledge has now plateaued and I now need to get my FOCUS back and continue learning!! Thanks!!

Young man, you are just terrific. My sister gave me your website and I must say you have impressed me with your dedication and new method of teaching. I notice you also teach the drums and guitar? I have my own guitar, got some practice on the drums and have a tenor pan. I am glad my sister introduced me to you. I look forward to have your lessons when they are available. In time, I will love to purchase the material you are offering for the different musical instruments. I will get back to you, on that. Thanks so very much.

    Hi Jermaine,
This is a great video. It pairs well with the great and inspiring advice I received from you and JP on the Live Q&A held April 20, 2015. Keep ’em coming. Be blessed.
