Having the privilege to interact with tens of thousands of musicians online every year, I get to see the collective reasons, objections, and excuses given for not practicing or staying focused on one’s music.
And overwhelmingly, “TIME” is the excuse.
“If I only had more time Jermaine!”
I have a lengthy response to this but “time” (no pun intended) does not allow me to reply in toto at this moment. However, I’d like to share an insightful quote:
“I have only just a minute, only sixty seconds in it, forced upon me, can’t refuse it, didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it. But, it is up to me to use it. I must suffer if I lose it. Give account if I abuse it, just a tiny little minute – but eternity is in it.”
Dr. Benjamin E. Mays
How often do you squander a “minute?”
They add up and in those squandered minutes are every goal, aspiration, and dream you’ve ever wanted to accomplish.
In short, you have the time.
