Hi, I'm Jermaine Griggs, founder of this site. We teach people how to express themselves through the language of music. Just as you talk and listen freely, music can be enjoyed and played in the same way... if you know the rules of the "language!" I started this site at 17 years old in August 2000 and more than a decade later, we've helped literally millions of musicians along the way. Enjoy!

    Hi Jermaine

I have a valid license for song tutor which I have been using on my PC. I am wondering if I can also use it on my MAC as I have moved to a MAC. Please note that I have downloaded a trial version for MAC but I can’t see the portion for entering the key

Hi Jermaine.Song Tutor is really cool, but it would really be much more useful to the student if you could add a finger number placement feature on top of the piano keys. For example a person could enter his won fingerings (as everyones hand size and reach and shape is different…so everybody uses different fingers for the same notes. So it would great if Song Tutor had this editing feature included in it. This is what I like so much using Synthesia . It’s like guitar hero for piano…but you can not only loop it and change the tempos but you can edit your own fingering inputs over the keys being played. This is what makes Synthesia so much more valuable for the student learner.I wish Song Tutor had this feature as well since Song Tutor can also transpose keys…which Synthesia cannot do. I contacted the creator of Synthesia and he told me that it was, too difficult to program into the software since other features of the software would be lost or would have to be taken out. So maybe one day you’ll get around to it Jermaine. Take care bro and have a great weekend! Dave
