Wow, I can’t believe it’s been eight years since I first launched HearandPlay.com! I could have never imagined its impact way back on August 6, 2000 when I registered the domain name that would not only change my life but hundreds of thousands of musicians all around the world.
And I want to take this time to thank all of our dedicated customers, subscribers, and fans for molding us into what we are today. We couldn’t have achieved eight years without you!
Of course, I want to thank God for giving us another year! The success of this site wouldn’t be possible without his guidance and direction.
For some of you interested, here’s a little snapshot of our history…
* Hearandplay.com was founded in August 2000 by Jermaine Griggs.
* From August 2000 to March 2002, we offered 5 workbooks that taught people how to start playing piano.
* These 5 smaller workbooks were replaced by a comprehensive 300-pg “The Secrets to Playing Piano by Ear” course in March 2002.
* We opened our office in Long Beach, CA in January 2003.
* We were up to 52,000 on our mailing list
* Our second product was GospelKeys 300 dvd in July 2003.
* We released GospelKeys 101 next in Dec 2003 (I know, backwards but that’s how we did it… “praise songs” were more in demand and I finished that one first anyway)
* We released GospelKeys 202 (first version) in Sept 2004. Great hit!
* We released GospelKeys X in February 2005.
* We released GospelKeys 202 Special Edition (the final edition) in October 2005. Another great hit!
* We were up to 113,000 on our mailing list
* We released Christmas Keys version 1 in December 2005.
* We released GospelKeys 500 in January 2006.
* We re-released GospelKeys 101 and GospelKeys 300 as dvd in February 2006.
* We were up to 203,000 on our mailing list
* We announced our new community, http://www.hearandplayzone.com in February 2006.
* We released GospelKeys Urban Xtreme in April 2006.
* We released Hear and Play Pitch Ear-Training Software in August 2006.
* We released GospelKeys Organ 350 and 450 in November 2006
* We moved to our new Irvine, CA Office in January 2007.
* We released GospelKeys Urban Pro 600 in April 2007.
* We released Hear & Play Drums 101 - 103 in May 2007.
* We released Hear & Play Chords 101 and 102 in June 2007.
* We released Hear & Play Jazz 101 in October 2007.
* We released GospelKeys Urban Pro 625 Audio in January 2008.
* GospelKeys Tritone Xtravaganza was released in February 2008.
* Hear and Play Jazz 201 was released in March 2008.
* Hear and Play Starter 702 Series was released in April 2008.
* Hear and Play Hanon Volume I was released in May 2008.
* We were up to 301,500 on our mailing list
* GospelKeys Master Class Featuring Mike Bereal was released in June 2008.
* Hear and Play Vocal Mastery Series was released in July 2008.
