Jermaine,
The flash cards are really helpful. Thank you for creating them for us. You are right. They are an excellent way to learn the number system. Once again you’ve speeded up the learning process. Teaching is certainly one of your gifts. And you use of that gift brings joy to your students.

Jermaine,
There are no words to describe you. I have never in all the years I have played music understood things better than when you teach it. You are a blessed man and a gifted teacher, and even though I am married I can safely say I love you man:-)
You have taken me to heights in my music that I did not think was attainable. I use to think that it was an elite club that understood how to play gospel music. I am classically trained and after playing forever it seems, I still could not play by ear until now.
My husband says that playing the piano is my new drug of choice and that is because of all of your tutorials. I say to him it is not a bad drug to be on:-) Thanks again for your dedication to helping aspiring gospel musicians, I pray that God will richly bless you and your family for it.

Hi Jermaine - You’ve made understanding music so much easier. I’ve been plunking around on the piano for years (without much progress) and am now enthused to learn more. Thanks again, you are a blessing.

Germaine, being a beginner sucks, indeed! Am only now looking at your video lessons and have started the 300-page course. Been away over Christmas, and life got “busy” what with all the excitement about Obama, and life in general. And although I keep thinking, “Got to complete the 300-page course, before I can fully appreciate the videos.”, I find them interesting and I feel energized just knowing that I’ll soon understand “all of the good stuff” you are giving us so unselfishly. Your passion is contageous. Continue the good work, and thanks. I am continuing to bring up the rear, as it were! — Dean

Brother Jermaine, you are a Godsend. Thanks for your spirit of generosity. Finally, people like me with limited resources and time can learn at a pace appropriate for me. I just recently learned about you and so far, I am excited about what I’ve learned already. I can’t wait to grow. Thank you so much for your gift to the ministry of music. God Bless–Leon

Dear Jermaine,
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took piano lessons as a child and can read music but could never get very far with playing by ear.
Yesterday I listened to all four of your recent lessons and printed out the flash cards. (I did not study them yet though). I woke up at 5am with the circle of sharps going through my head. I just lay there seeing the progression on the circle and on the piano in my head. You talk about looking for patterns and I was able to see that a key is pulled to it’s 4th and is pulled by it’s 5th!!!!. I know that is not news to you but it was to me and now I realise just by thinking about the progression of the chords I have memorized many of the 4th notes and 5th notes for the numbers I need to know to be able to talk the universal language of music.
I am so excited!!!!!
You also said in one of the videos that you are as good as the average of the people you are with (or something to that effect). The meaning I took from that is that you learn from each other. Learning from others is so imortant. I do not have a group of musicians to be with so thank you for letting me be with you and learn from you through those videos.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Jennylou

Jermaine, just listening to chords cd-1 I’ve learned a lot, I am relearning everything. I get a little confused with major vs minor but when I go back over my notes it’s there, or I pop the cd in, and hear it again, and now I don’t look fearfully at a keyboard. I can see every C fast! The rest will come. I can’t wait to get to the next dvds, I feel like the chords are more important, let me know if I am wrong!

Man this is so informative. Jermaine you is using you in such a mighty way. May he continue to bless you and all you put your hands to do. Going now to get down more into this info. There aren’t so musicians out there willing to really help you grow and improve so i agree with all that you said. Its so bad of us as the church. Hoping things will change with time. God bless you all.
