This business card offended me… at first!

opportunity-big.jpgFor my second motivational post this weekend, I want to pass on to you something a fellow shared with me after a seminar one time.

He gave me a business card that said:

OPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE

At first, I read it as…

Opportunity is nowhere.

How gloomy? Who would pass out a business card saying opportunity is nowhere? Someone’s had some tough experiences… lol.

But then, I took another look at the card and I saw something different this time.

OPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE

It didn’t say, “Opportunity is nowhere.”

In fact, it said quite the opposite.

It said, “Opportunity is NOW here.”

How could I have missed that?

Well, the truth is that many people can look at the same situation and perceive two different things!

One person can see opportunity… another person can see despair.

One person can notice all the positive things about a situation, where the other person may notice all the shortcomings.

It’s called perception.

OPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE
OPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE

How do you see things?

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full?

Perception is everything!

I’ll leave you with a quote by Wayne Dyer…

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Until next time —

GREAT POST…THE EVANGELIST LAST WEEK SUGGESTED PUTTING YOURSELF ON A WORD FAST….[USING HAND JESTERS AND WRITING TO COMMUNCATE FOR A SET PERIOD OF TIME. AND TAKE NOTICE OF ALL THE NEGATIVE THINGS YOUR MIND CONJURES UP TO SAY. LIKE WHEN GIVING DIRECTIONS WE ALWAYS SAY “MAKE A LEFT AT THE ‘RED’ LIGHT”. RED SYMBOLIZING STOPPING OR DANGER. WHEN IN REALITY THAT SAME LIGHT CAN BE CONSIDER A YELLOW OR GREEN LIGHT. IF YOU TRAIN YOUR MIND TO USE POSITIVE WORDS AND THOUGHT PATTERNS, YOUR PERCEPTION IN LIFE WOULD CHANGE… ;)

LIKE MISSIONARY C. OMPLAINALOT SAYS WHEN ASKED HOW’S SHE DOING TODAY…”WELL SON MY SIGHT IS DIM, MY LEG HURTS, THIS ULCER IS BOTHERING ME, THIS ‘ROOM-A-TISSIM’ IS ACTING UP, CAN’T KEEP NO FOOD DOWN, AND BREATHING MAKES ME SICK,BUT I AIN’T ONE TO COMPLAIN. PRAISE THE LAWD.”

I TRULY BELIEVE MY OPPORTUNITY ISnowHERE, 4 SHO!!!!

    TRU DAT THUR, GOD BLESS
