Thank you Jermaine for being so supportive of your fellow musicians. I am a musician who has been playing sice 2003, ad still can’t play as well as some of those beasts that i hear on youtube, but i know i will be able to get it right one day, and thanks to you, it could be sooner than later! I really appreciate the opportunity to learn in this type of environment. I have several uptempo christmas songs that i would like to request to learn, because my choir wants to sing them for christmas plays, and other christmas programs we have coming up. Thanks again Jermaine.

Just a note to encourage any of you who truly want to learn; to join us at the Gospel Music Training Center. I was one of the 550 folks who made it through the door last time. As you know, it was very difficult to do. This time there are even fewer spots to compete for but don’t let that discourage you. Go for it! Keep trying. I’m really happy to see that there’s something there for everyone. I’m particularly blessed as I’m sort of a beginner/ almost intermediate level so I’m able to gain confidence and better understand basics in the beginner basement. Then I can explore the regular teaching at the regular levels. What I’m saying is you can work with whatever level you are at and you can explore and grow at your own pace. If you have enjoyed Hear and Play, this is even better!!

Hurry Hurry Hurry Please step right up!!!! JP and JG has done it again. I was blessed to be one of the first few hundred people to sign up for the GMTC. I am telling you all, its a blast. But it will be much funnier when others join because the more people the more we can learn from each other. Just remember just because we were first, we are really the last so hurry up and ill be seeing you all soon!! Then, we can become as ONE!!!

Wow! I was just in the Internet cafe at my community college listening to the announcement, and one classmate that took a course with me over the summer came up to me and started talking to me about Hear and Play. He took just one glance at my computer, and exclaimed: “that’s the one where the Reverend teaches you how to play gospel piano! my daughter was doing that to learn how to play the keys. I was thinking about it myself, because I want to learn how to play too. Cool, they have a new website design?…” What are the odds of that happening? You are touching others right here in my community, Hear and Play!
To everyone who reads this, the training center is worth it. I teach latin to spanish church musicians, and I have in the past received $50 a lesson just to teach concepts similar to those that are taught at hearandplay.com and through the 500-page course. When I went into teaching, I was very shabby musically. It had been many years since formally studying music. So I used hearandplay.com as a refresher course-and believe me-I learned more just from the email lessons archives than over five years of piano at public school, music school, and college! I know this is “play by ear”, but after the 500-page course Yippee I can read music again!
You get a total immersion in this training center. For each song, there’s video files from beginner to advanced, there is a MIDI option for learning, and sheet music if you are fortunate to read. Also, there is a beginners’ basement for those that need some extra help! Oh, and for you that like to learn on your way home from work, there’s the audio for each lesson as well! You will not regret it! I’m moving my church from just latin music and praise & worship into black gospel and contempo gospel as well. I’m already throwing in the progessions, voicings, and all of those other “extras” we’re learning into my playing at service! Thanks again Hear and Play!

I too was one of the 550 folks who had an opportunity to join. I however had to order using your phone order service.
I’ve received the link to download 202 and did so successfully. However, I could not open it with my PC, of which I have the latest video players. Please advise which player is the most recommended player to play the four (4) 202 DVD’s. It works GREAT running directly from your server.
Moreover, I could not find the link to download freely the software which slows down and speeds up MP3 file. HELP PLEASE!

On your pc, you should be able to play .mp4 files. Either you can download QUICKTIME ( http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ ) or upgrade your windows media player. Mp4 has become a very popular format and most software programs will support it.
Klaus, also make sure you’ve downloaded the FULL files (they are pretty big). If your download has been interrupted, it may have corrupted the files.

I am please with what I have seen thus far. I got in on the first 500 or so. I have children so this type of teaching allows me to practice at the time that fits my schedule. That’s important because my schedule is never the same each day with work, children, church and school.

I don’t want the free gifts-I already have the Xmas discs and 202. How do I just sign up for the training center?
