    Don’t Throw In The Towel…

My brother in law was over during the holidays and it’s become a tradition for us to dust of my xbox 360 and enjoy a game of Nba 2k or Madden Football. (I can’t stand playing the computer so the only time I engage in video games is when I can play a real person… “in person.”)

Well, every year is the same. He tends to beat me by about 40 points in Madden Football.

And while he’s whooping on me, he loves to talk “mess” too! He’ll look over and say “ready to throw in the towel?” … “ready to give up?” … “want to start over?” … “you suck!” … “give up already!”

And my answer is always the same. “NO.”

And Sarah and I make sure to teach our kids to “NEVER GIVE UP… no matter how the odds are stacked against you.”

    NEVER GIVE UP.

In fact, we have this little motto: “The Griggs’ Never Give Up.”

(Jadyn, our oldest is so funny when she says it. She lowers her chin and puts on this deep voice… “Griggs Nevaaaa Give Up!”)

I don’t care if it’s the biggest decision of my life… or a video game — the concept is the same.

Being a musician ain’t easy. Learning to train your fingers takes time. Things don’t come overnight. But I want to encourage you to NEVER GIVE UP.

Something led you to this. You want to do this. It may be a lifelong dream of yours, a passion. And like my brother in law, you may hear these whispers encouraging you to take an early defeat.

    Don’t throw in the towel.

As they say, the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. Remember that.

Still faithfull to your resolution and it’s a blessing for us. So i give it back to you, may God always bless you and your family, keep you in his arms. I’m kind of hurried to go eating another bite of that dinausur and i’ll be faithful to those goals. That’s not only a new year resolution. I believe we’re making lifetime decisons.

I am having trouble just finding where to start. i bought the 300 pg workout but i am having trouble knowing when i should advance to the next lesson, or should i even be in the book at all….should i memorize all the scales using the “number system” before i even start with the book? should i learn each chord in all 12 keys before moving on? just feeling really #overwhelmed any methods anyone else has or would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated because i am really considering “throwing in the towel”

Your story is very encouraging. Saw you and your wife purchase your 1st home on house hunters and I was so happy for you both. There’s no doubt that it is well deserved. Blessings!
