Since I’ve written majority hardcore music lessons for my last few blog posts, I wanted to switch things up and share an article with you about how the music industry has changed, amid “web 2.0.”

So if you already sell your music online or would like to one day, check out this article on the “10 problems facing the music industry.”

The game is a lot different than it used to be and this will get you thinking about what you need to alter in order to succeed.

The following two tabs change content below.
Hi, I'm Jermaine Griggs, founder of this site. We teach people how to express themselves through the language of music. Just as you talk and listen freely, music can be enjoyed and played in the same way... if you know the rules of the "language!" I started this site at 17 years old in August 2000 and more than a decade later, we've helped literally millions of musicians along the way. Enjoy!

I think a lot of these ideas stem from a systemic problem in business as a whole. Many businesses are thinking all about the short term. A long term approach is the way of the future. How can we create lasting relationships with our fans?

Another issue is that traditional marketing has gone out the window and the tradition record store is now online. Yes, the death of the album is an important factor in this, but surely we all knew it was coming?

As an industry we need to provide better value to our consumers.
